Comparing Playing on Xbox VS PC

Let's talk...Overwatch.  I absolutely LOVE playing this fucking game.  I've mainly been an Xbox user because both me and my husband can play together.  His Xbox is my home Xbox, so I use that while he uses mine.  To put it simply we game share.

Overwatch isn't a game for everyone but for me I really enjoy it...FOR THE MOST PART.  I won't get into it but competitive matches grind my fucking gears.  I'm just going to focus on the switch I made from Xbox to PC when it comes to the differences between the two.  Now by no means have I stopped playing it on Xbox but I do thoroughly enjoy playing on the PC more as of right now.

When I hop on Xbox it becomes a toxic mess.  Though, in my personal opinion I think it's more convenient for people to just pick up a controller as compared to turning on their computer and sitting at a desk using mouse and keyboard.  Chillin' on the couch is simpler when it comes down to it.   Granted for some people PC is more convenient when choosing what to play Overwatch on and I can easily point out why.

First thing to compare, the chat functions.  You're more likely to get a team of people who will communicate on PC rather than Xbox.  You pretty much have to go through flaming hoops just to switch over to game chat.  This opinion will be under the assumption that you don't have auto join enabled for game chat(or it's messed up for you like it has for me and others recently).

If you miss the time to switch over while you're picking your character you don't just have a mouse to click to where you need to go and sometimes you feel like you're scrambling more to get there on Xbox.  Honestly, I could just be clumsy with the controller but it feels like a battle just to get to game chat when I fuck up with the buttons I need to press.  Also, if you're partied up with people and using the party chat function on Xbox then it's basically the same thing.  Plus, most people just decide to STAY in their party chat since they figure other people won't have mics and aren't willing to talk even if they do.  So a lot of people are discouraged to chat in game anyway.  Especially at the lower tiers rank wise and also casual gamers.

When it comes down to it PC goers also have another function: Typing in chat.  Even if someone lacks a mic they can communicate with not only their WHOLE TEAM but the other team if they choose to.  If you want to type something out to the whole team on Xbox, you can't fucking do that quickly.  Again, it comes back to going through a fucking complicated cycle just to communicate on a system that you'd think would make it easy.  That's probably the worst thing I'll talk about of these comparisons to be honest.

Now let's jump into aiming.  PC is definitely superior.  You can have basically zero skill when it comes to aiming and you can at least do better on PC than on console.  Most people get this concept.  If you've been rocking a controller your whole life you probably prefer it BUT are able to do both.  A lot of people will go and get controllers that they can customize (either if they're a serious gamer or one who wants to flex with the best) for better control when aiming.  Like adding KontrolFreeks to the analogs or buying a Scuf controller(not sponsored).  My experience with aiming is basically it's better for me to use a mouse than a controller, but that doesn't stop me from still trying my all to have that sweet sweet accuracy on point.

PC ACCURACY

 XBOX ACCURACY

Yeah I know what you're thinking.  6% isn't that much.  It's a hell of a big difference guys.  That means my aim on PC is significantly better than on Xbox.  I'll be honest I change the way I play based off of this.  I play more shot gun and locking on characters on Xbox and more Sniping characters on PC, it's just come down to that.  That's not a bad thing though, sometimes you have to realize what you should play that's more beneficial on a different platform.

Alright let's close this out.  Those were the main two differences I've seen so far since transitioning from Xbox to PC on Overwatch.  I'll most likely get more in-depth about the other things that either peeve, concern, or restore my faith with the community, ranking system, and so on and so forth for Overwatch so stay tuned!

Stop Under Valuing Your Art!

Oh hey look!  I spy an offer for $150.  Sounds like something I'd be interested in!  They want my style?  Sweet!  Wanted in a week's time.  Sounds doable.  They want an artist willing to draw ten characters...each of which are 500x500 pixels?!  You're out of your mind... if you think... that I'm... NOT going to take that delicious deal!!!!!!!

Clearly just kidding right now.

That's a rip off and an UTTER WASTE of PRECIOUS TIME!  Stop settling for weak funds when you need them.  If you take over an hour to do something, you absolutely need to become an hourly worker and make the amount you deserve.  Even if you don't take that long you should still at least charge as if you are one.

Now you may say, "but my work sucks so I should price it WAY cheaper".  NO!  Not only are you allowing buyers to saturate the market with cheap ass offers, but you're wasting your time doing that only to be able to buy lunch two days in-a-row.  It also gives people an invite to shame people, who work as artists, as if they're not worth the amount of effort they put in.

Quality does matter, but if someone isn't willing to pay decently for your time THAT should be an incentive to look elsewhere.  The fact of the matter is either you went to them or THEY CAME TO YOU. Someone is willing to pay for your work, you just have to reach them.  Product should never be a hand out and you shouldn't struggle to make a living(or get a meal) no matter what your line of work is.  If you flip burgers and fill orders for 40/hrs a day you should be able to provide yourself with(all basic necessities) a roof over your head, food in your belly, insurance under your belt, and some extra on the side to save and spend as you please.

There are people who WILL argue pricing with you, turn them down IMMEDIATELY.  Unless you're willing to give them a sale for additional pieces they're willing to buy, do NOT bend.  They may whip out the ol' "I can find someone who can do the job for less!" Then GO HUNNY!  I've got better things to do than waste my time on you when someone else wants to pay for my shit IN CASH not a LEMME BUMP YOUR PRICE DOWN TO FIT MY CHEAP ASS POCKETS!

Some may and will argue that some artwork just isn't worth the(at least) minimum wage you are asking for.  It MAY be true.  When it comes down to it if you're not getting work DON'T CHANGE YOUR PRICE!  Get better at your craft or find clients who will buy.  When you do get that first job you'll feel great for refusing to sell yourself short.  It may take years and you may have to go get extra training and/or a job on the side, but don't devalue your art or time.  They're both precious things.  People work so hard to get the masses to understand the value of art; They are more relevant in this world than you may know.

Having Inspiration but Lacking Ideas

There are moments when we're inspired but lack ideas to put that inspiration towards.  So, what do we do in these situations?  Do we force ourselves to just do something to get this irresistible urge out?  Shall we conform to others' ideas?  Sit there and catch some anxiety while the feelings brew inside?  Ponder until an idea comes to us?  Or do we just.. let it fade away?

Personally, I'm an individual who enjoys doing many things; Sometimes I wish I could duplicate myself physically and put my inspiration towards all the aspects of life that I love.  I'd need like five different mes.  That's some intense shit.

While writing this I have inspiration just sitting at the bottom of my belly; This feeling is totally the opposite of nerves and anxiety, but rather butterflies on shots of vitamin B.  I want to draw, dance, make videos, and more.  Obviously there's a problem with that.  The problem is lacking an actual subject for my inspiration; I'm missing an idea, I just have the urge to do.

Being a ball of energy with no purpose just causes frustration for myself.  What the hell do I do about it?

Is writing/typing it out a good method?  Yeah.. I guess that's the way I'm doing it right now.  Though, I could DO an activity I love and put that inspiration to good use.  It could even be emulating someone else's idea(s) or a previous idea of my own, just to get those feelings out.  That usually has me questioning my originality, but that's a subject for another day.

It's not a bad thing, having an idea or lack-thereof.  Letting inspiration go to waste can, in turn, become a major downer.  Especially when you're awake passed midnight and just figure you might as well stay up to ponder these feelings.

The shitty thing about having inspiration without any ideas is when you decide you're going to stress out about it; Not having an idea to match your inspiration, sucks.  Stressing out shouldn't be a conclusion you get to, but, it's inevitable sometimes.  At the end of the day, you might just need sleep or rest; It could be a number of things.  I most likely need sleep.  THAT'S why I stress out about it at 2 o'clock in the morning, instead of just picking up that motivation again, after a good night's rest.
